Taryn Wiens is an independent curator, arts writer, and artist. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Virginia.
She is the co-founder of S/PLI/T Projects, where she co-directed a series of two-person exhibitions of emerging artists in rotating venues around Oregon, and the former gallery manager for Disjecta Contemporary Art Center in Portland, Oregon. She has been published in Daily Serving and in Temporary Art Review, and her artwork has been featured in Interview Magazine. Through working in both art and design fields, she is interested in uncovering and articulating our past and present in order to provide a platform for imagining alternate futures.
She is curating a three-person exhibition Mapping Hidden Systems for Oregon State University's Fairbanks Gallery in May 2018.
